    1895-1946
       Actor desde comienzos de los anos 20, fue contratado por Paramount en 1928 como director, realizando un buen punado de peliculas en los anos 30 de las que, sin lugar a dudas, Caravanas belicas ca mino del Oeste es la mas conocida y mejor. Director de genero, simultanea labores de realizacion con otras de director de segunda unidad. Muerto prematuramente, su ultima aportacion al cine fue el trabajo que llevo a cabo para Duelo al sol (Duel in the Sun, 1946). La pelicula Men with Steel Faces es una version, acortada, del serial The Phantom Empire. Fue uno de los directores (hasta once en total) de Galas de la Paramount (Paramount on Parade, 1930), producto del sonoro temprano, en el que colaboro el mismisimo Ernst Lubitsch.
